John Montalbano

Instructor

John is not only the owner of Invictus Krav Maga, but is also the California State Director for the International Krav Maga Federation (IKMF). John has been training in Krav Maga since 2012. Based on his commitment to excellence and desire to empower others, John was invited to enroll in the instructor program in 2017 and received his IKMF Civilian Instructor certification in 2018 and his KIDS Instructor certification in 2021. In 2022, John was selected by the IKMF to train in the STAY AWAY! Women's Self-Defense Instructor course. John is 1 of only 3 instructors certified in the entire state of California to teach this program. Based on his extensive training with Women, Kids and combat fighting, John is recognized as a "Lead Instructor" by the International Krav Maga Federation, and is presently one of only two individuals west of the Mississippi to hold this title.

Fred Williams

Instructor

Fred started his Krav Maga journey in early 2015 under (then) IKMF California Director and Expert 2 Drew Goodwin. He was intrigued by the science behind Krav Maga and how fast students become proficient in its use. His passion to help others learn to defend themselves quickly led him to becoming a certified IKMF Krav Maga Instructor.

Noel Chavady

Instructor

Noel began his Krav Maga training in early 2015 with (then) IKMF California Director and Expert 2 Drew Goodwin in San Diego. He is a self-defense enthusiast who trains and teaches based on real-world scenarios.

Ute Hummler

Instructor

Ute started training Krav Maga in late 2017. Having never encountered the world of Martial Arts before, she quickly became fascinated with the explosiveness and efficiency of Krav Maga, the concept of a timeline and that everyone can learn these techniques to defend themselves. She appreciates the physical strengthening and fitness aspect of training, but is even more excited about the fact how Krav Maga is hugely beneficial on a mental and emotional level by becoming able to evaluate and assess potentially difficult and dangerous situations.

Mike Douglas

Instructor

Mike received his first taste of hand to hand combat training when he joined the Marine Corps after high school in 1991. In 2013 Mike began training Krav Maga under (then) IKMF California Director and Expert 2 Drew Goodwin. He instantly fell in love with the simplicity and effectiveness of the techniques. As he increased in rank, Mike found that he really enjoyed working with and helping new students.

Brian Koll

Instructor

Brian began Krav Maga training in 2015 under the instruction of IKMF Expert 2 Drew Goodwin. He started primarily as a way to protect himself and his family. He loved Krav Maga after trying other martial arts and realizing that martial arts have “rules” and Krav Maga doesn’t.

Yarik Ivaniuk

Instructor

Born in the former USSR, Yarik moved to the US in 2003. He began his martial arts training in early 2013. He was studying Judo and Japanese Jiu Jitsu with a former member of the US Sport Ju Jitsu Team and multiple US Judo Kata champion Heiko Rommelmann Jr. His club was very competitive and Yarik participated in numerous Judo tournaments, winning some of them. On the side Yarik was a competitive powerlifter and participated in several tournaments across the country.
